Rat: Know what you want – get crystal clear – no limits – anything’s possible.
Ox: Trust (and allow/empower) higher power to figure out “how.” Dragon: Follow your own internal guidance!
Tiger: Make peace with what is. As you resist anything, you empower its continuance. For change to occur, stop fighting against what is.
Rabbit: Go with the flow of what feels best – forget others’ ideas about “should.”
Snake: Release what isn’t working in your life – eliminate tolerations to free you for easy path to success.
Horse: Shed old beliefs and past experiences that aren’t in alignment with your desires – they mean nothing.
Sheep: The outer is a reflection of the inner. Like attracts like. Use this info to clean up your vibe.
Monkey: Don’t get stuck in negative energy – shake it off and go back to a good feeling place.
Rooster: Feel the feeling of what you want; act as if . . .
Dog: Be as good to yourself as you are to others. Self-love is the key to swift manifestation, since the Universe can only be as good to you as you are to yourself.
Pig: Appreciation will take you far. Continue to indulge in what gives you pleasure, (enjoyment brings you more things to enjoy and appreciate!)

The Rat attracts according to his own nature and that means living life with wonder, bliss, excitement and joy. By turning our attention away from things that we do not want and focusing our thoughts on what we find pleasurable and fulfilling, the year of the rat will mark a time of great inner change and alignment. It is natural to have everything that we desire. The Rat knows this! When we gain a deeper understanding of the Law of Attraction we learn how to make our lives more abundant, fulfilling, creative and FUN!

Please receive the 5 traditional Chinese blessings:

RatRat: 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008

Imaginative Rat has qualities of assertiveness, invention, initiative and charm not unlike western astrology's sign Aries. Rat is enterprising and visionary, putting energy towards goals for the future and attracting friends and cohorts along the way. This is the sign to take on a camping trip if you think thinks could get rough. They know how to enjoy the ride and are always ready with a blast of positive energy. Rat knows the ropes and can find the resources to solve the most complex problems. They are happiest when using their sharp wit and perceptions to launch a project or create success. 2008 is their year, the beginning of a whole new cycle where enthusiasm is high and the target in sight.

Rat’s natural tendency to initiate, act and gather helpful resources will serve them especially well when they start by clearly identifying what they most want in their heart of hearts.  There are no holds barred this year, so this is the time for Rats to aim high!  By keeping their biggest dreams firmly in the forefront of mind, there isn’t anything off limits in the year of the Rat.  Rats will do best by finding a powerful way to harness their creative energy; perhaps writing goals and desires in the form of intentions, creating a visual representation of them, or repeating a mantra to stay connected to the manifestation of their next creation.  Rats would do well to envision the end result before taking action or launch a new project, and use their talent for calling in helpful resources to put the finishing touches on whatever those projects turn out to be.

Ox Ox: 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997

Strong Ox is not daunted by hard work, long hours or ridiculous odds. Steadfast and enduring, this is the sign of sustained effort and determination to reach a goal, no matter what. Like the Western Astrology earth sign Taurus, they know how to move mountains, one shovel at a time. Some people think this is stubborn or bull headed. Ox simply see it as getting the job done. And boy do they. Sometimes Ox is so into the shoveling that they forget to relax. They love the sensuality of life though, the tastes, aromas, textures and visual imagery. In this way, their artistic nature, be they chefs, musicians, painters, potters, writers or dances, translates beautifully to others.

Ox’s commitment to achieving their goal is a tremendous advantage.  By not giving up when the going gets tough, they are sure to reap huge rewards.  It’s important to remember they don’t have to do all the work, though.  Leaving room for magic to surface by empowering the Universe to act on their behalf is a wonderful way to amp up the delights waiting for Ox in the Year of the Rat.  Ox can achieve this by remaining open to other possibilities than the path they have their sights set on, allowing other alternatives to present themselves and even develop on their own without struggle or effort.  Indeed, Ox would do well to learn they don’t always have to “make it happen” and instead make space for magic. The best role of Ox is to take inspired action, do what feels good (which they are unusually gifted at) and let the Universe work magic on their behalf.

TigerTiger: 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998

Lucky Tiger is thrilled to be in new places, discovering the unknown secrets of distant lands be they of the mind, body or spirit. Smart, determined and socially oriented, Tiger relates to the western zodiac sign of Aquarius--the cosmic social worker. Here is an altruistic nature that is interested in the 'big problems' of welfare, justice and world peace. Thriving on unpredictable situations, Tiger doesn't mind a challenge, though their authority is their own. Fluctuating between extraversion and a life filled with colleagues and friends, and the need for solitude and 'space', Tiger is happiest when trusting their instincts--even when they go against the grain of social expectations and assumptions.

Tiger leads the way to new possibilities for all of us and isn’t content to just “hope” for something – but has the courage and drive to work towards it.  In their efforts to achieve personal goals as well as those for the community, Tiger should be sure not to fight against what they don’t want.  What we give our attention to grows, so Tiger, remember to stay focused on what you want rather than what you don’t want. Also keep in mind the most powerful way to create outer change is to embrace it within first.  Being the change Tiger wants to see in the world leads the way for others to follow.  Tigers work best when they release themselves of others’ expectations as well as any thoughts of what things “should” look like or what they are “supposed to” do.  Following their inner guidance means Tigers easily hit whatever target they set their sights on!

Rabbit Rabbit: 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999

Sensitive Rabbit exalts in a peaceful, tranquil environment. Less competitive than most of the other signs, Rabbit has some of the intuitive, open and artistic qualities of the western zodiac sign of Pisces. Here is the archetype of the peacemaker, a soul not so much interested facing challenges or waging war but more interested in 'going with the flow.' The path of least resistance brings Rabbit to a state of inner tranquility, though many will spend much energy organizing and structuring their environment before they can exhale. They like things 'just so' and usually have an intuitive awareness of 'what should go where' to make their homes, offices or studios the most perfect place. Private and sometimes shy, this is a sign of powerful intention, an iron fist inside a velvet glove.

Rabbit’s tendency to go with the flow serves them well as they combine this innate trait with a grounded commitment to their true desires.  Whereas other signs may fight the current to get where they want to be, Rabbit saves energy and gets there faster by trusting the river of life to take them to the perfect place in the perfect time. Rabbit will know when they’re in the best flow when they are doing what feels best.Respecting their need for order and structure allows Rabbit to maintain their high energy.  Rabbits would do well to cultivate order both in their physical surroundings as well as their inner landscape.  Attending to what needs cleaning up internally will allow Rabbit to thrive under any circumstances.  Whereas Rabbit wouldn’t tolerate something out of place in their physical environment, likewise they will thrive by giving as much care to the feelings and emotions they store within the body.

DragonDragon: 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000

Charismatic Dragon has a knack for attracting an entourage of friends and companions. Dramatic, creative and keenly extraverted, Dragon shares some of the qualities of the western zodiac sign of Leo. This is a sign full of energy and enthusiasm for new projects and often not too shy to exhibit their wares, creative or otherwise. Dragon's natural state is one confidence and poise and few bulk at being the center of attention. There is a regal quality to the Dragon and they can be happiest when solving problems with their knowledge and authority. Known for their impeccable timing, Dragons are considered 'lucky' and when they trust their intuition they find themselves in just the right place at the right time, whatever their desires! When Dragon does this, they discover hidden creative properties that they never new were there!

Dragons will thrive in the year of the Rat by trusting and acting on their inner wisdom.  They are naturally gifted at allowing - and in fact, expecting -  higher powers to bring magical solutions, resources and opportunities to their door.  The Universe delivers on our expectations, so Dragon will do well in continuing to expect the best.  Creating ideal relationships in life is an inside job.  Dragons will experience wonderful liaisons with others in the year of the Rat by giving what they want to receive, and “being” who they want others to be for them.  We get what we put out, so if Dragon desires more love, respect, or appreciation, they can flow that energy within and without in order to receive it from the rest of the world.

Snake Snake: 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001

Wise Snake can be enterprising, witty, decisive and motivated when the right goal is before them. They are both philosophical and intuitive, a killer combination when they trust it! Snake shares some of the qualities of the western zodiac sign of Scorpio--seductive, intense, generous to those they love and adept both creatively and intellectually. Also like Scorpio, snakes love their privacy and need a space away from the hub of activity to regenerate and 'collect their thoughts.' If they seem secretive, it is because they are wired to work alone, even in groups. They may simply need a gentle reminder from time to time to share with the collective, when it feels right. Not an open book, snake holds back until trust is earned. When that happens, they are deep and loyal allies.

Snakes strongly empower themselves in the year of the Rat by putting an end to energy-drainers.  Whether it’s from their physical environment, relationships, career, health or some other area of life, eliminating tolerations allows Snakes to experience their best selves.  Snakes line up easily with success when they release what’s not working in their lives and make their own well-being the highest priority.  Although it takes courage to let go of the familiar, the results are well worth it. Tolerations can be dropped in two ways: either by getting it handled or changing how we feel about it.  It isn’t as important how it’s eliminated as that it is eliminated.  Putting up with things, people or situations that don’t feel good is a huge handicap on success.  Snakes will experience tremendous empowerment by paying attention to what doesn’t feel good in their lives and releasing that energy.

HorseHorse: 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002

Freedom loving Horse is a lively and animated sign, often 'talking with their hands,' gesticulating wildly when excited about their topic. Much like the western zodiac sign of Gemini, Horse is intelligent, quick witted, social, gregarious and bursting with energy. They have an open-minded nature that quite naturally can lead them beyond limitations of cultural norms. Friendly and talkative, they are also independent, needing plenty of 'alone time' as well as engagement with others. Ultimately they are self-reliant, though when given enough space they can be loyal friends for a lifetime. The important word is 'space.' This sign's motto is 'Don't Fence Me In!'. A warning best headed if they aren't to gallop away (and their childlike spirit is worth having around!) They can offer much in the way of strength, support and enthusiasm.

There are no limits for Horses to create and experience what they most desire in the year of the Rat.  All that holds them back are their own internal beliefs about what those possibilities are.  Horses can set themselves free of self-imposed limitations by deliberately entertaining positive thoughts of achieving their highest goals.  Mental focus is helpful in making dreams come true, and Horses can empower those dreams by directing their attention on thoughts, feelings and beliefs that support success.  Horses can also harness the power of their minds by cultivating the habit of releasing thoughts of past experiences that didn’t serve them.  The simple choice and commitment to letting go of old stories and beliefs that aren’t in alignment with what they want makes Horse a powerful creator.  By holding thoughts of success and daring to dream of what they want most, Horses cannot be denied.

GoatSheep: 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003

Creative Sheep is peace loving, intuitive and calm, a homebody at heart. If they travel, they like to take their house with them! Sharing some qualities with the western zodiac sign of Cancer, Sheep loves quietude, connection and intimacy. They are great nurturers and love to be useful. Sheep also love to be among people, especially friends but not in the spotlight or center stage. They prefer to keep a low profile, not needing too much attention going their way. Sheep are known for their artistic abilities as well. The humble creative force is with them and they can get a lot of joy out of music, dance, visual arts and storytelling in all its forms. Sheep can lead if the situation requires but they prefer to be part of a team, gaining a sense of security in numbers. Sheep throw wonderful parties--they are there to look after their friends and make certain everyone has what they need.

The year of the Rat is the time for Sheep to commit to upgrading their social circle.  Since Sheep get much of their satisfaction and enjoyment in life through their intimate connections, it’s important for them to be discerning about who those connections are with.  As many personal development experts tell us, we are who we hang out with.  If Sheep doesn’t enjoy key relationships in their life, it’s a sign that change is due.  Whether that change is accomplished by ending relationships, beginning new ones, or making clear requests of others to transform existing relationships, the effort in doing so is well-rewarded.  Sheep are particularly sensitive to the energies that others project, so paying attention to how others make them feel and taking steps to ensure their social connections are supportive and feeling good is extremely important to Sheep’s well being.  Doing so will make for a particularly enjoyable year of the Rat for Sheep.

MonkeyMonkey: 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004

Cheeky Monkey has an abundance of energy, enthusiasm and spark. This sign shares some of the intellectual and quick-silver qualities of western astrology's sign of Virgo including a love friends, witty dialog and analytical capabilities. They don't mind lofty challenges and high sighted goals--they actually thrive when they have something to reach for. With a hefty dose of curiosity, Monkey tends to gain a great deal of information in their travels, turning what they learn into knowledge and wisdom that they can share with others. They love to communicate--be it through phone, internet or face to face. The main thing is that they feel connected. Social, sensitive and full of life, Monkey can turn trouble into fun, gloom into a sunny day.

Monkeys set their sights high in the year of the Rat, knowing that whatever they dare claim for themselves is within their reach at this time.  Whereas they may have held back in the past due to fear of failure or disappointment, now is the time to let go of old limitations and claim their birthright to experience whatever they most want in life. Monkey’s mental ability to turn things over in their mind affords them the skill of finding a perspective that empowers their success.  By consistently reaching for thoughts that feel better, Monkeys leverage a powerful force to aid the effortless and swift achievement of their highest dreams and desires.  It’s important for Monkeys to remember to release negative energy when they become aware of it, and return to a perspective or “feeling-state” that serves them much better.

RosterRooster: 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005

Zesty Rooster (actually it's 'hen' as all the Chinese animal signs are female) is smart, flamboyant, blunt and direct. They share some of the qualities found in the western astrology sign of Sagittarius including ruthless honesty (to your face) wild enthusiasm for a new adventure and a commanding presence. Gregarious to an extreme, they love to be surrounded by friends and admirers, with themselves preferably in the center--spotlight on high beam. There is a spiritual side to rooster as well--their wings symbolic of the link between heaven and earth. They love exploring metaphysical ideas and engaging in philosophical discussions. The physical world always calls them back from their spiritual journeys though, with the allure of sports, games, fun and adventure.

Roosters will do well in the year of the Rat to combine two things: 1) dreaming their biggest dreams, since never before have they been more capable of experiencing them; and 2) achieve those dreams by practicing one of the most powerful LOA manifestation techniques: “acting as if.”  “Acting as if” they already had their dream come true creates powerful alignment to the manifestation of those dreams.  Roosters are well-suited to this practice, especially when they embrace their deepest dreams of the heart.  Rooster can practice the technique of “acting as if” by asking themselves how they would behave or feel in everyday life if they already had their dream come true.  Whether it’s a more relaxed air, a quicker smile to others, or an inspiration to different actions or thoughts – the practice of adopting this energy now rather than waiting for it to manifest in real life is an extremely powerful manifestation habit that calls Rooster to their best year ever.

DogDog: 1910, 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006

Friendly Dog has an easy going nature that attracts friends through an abundance of compassion, kindness and support. Everyone needs at least ONE dog friend in their life! This sign shares some of the qualities of western astrology's sign of Libra--fair, gracious, artistic and willing and able to relate. Dogs enjoy being in partnerships and friendships--they are great listeners and attentive allies. This sign, like the animal it represents, has a wild nature too, one that likes to sniff out fun and excitement, be where the action is and discover new things. They are a wonderful combination of loyalty, sensitivity and sensuality, all in one. Dog is trustworthy, steadfast and motivated towards connecting with others--together, for dog, is preferable to alone!

As people who generously give to others in relationship, the year of the Rat is time for Dogs to become expert at being good to themselves.  When Dogs upgrade their relationships with Self, and learn to rely on Self rather than others for happiness and wellbeing, all their other relationships will also achieve new levels of enjoyment. How we feel about ourselves is reflected in the relationships we experience with others.  So improving the most important relationship of all – the ones Dogs have with themselves – allows even more rewarding and nurturing experiences. Since everything is an inside job and it all starts within, this law of attraction practice of being good to oneself will serve Dog in all areas of life.

PigPig: 1911, 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007

Sensual Pig has an open energy that knows how to enjoy life through the five senses. They take pleasure in the 'little things' of taste, touch and visually beauty, smelling the flowers and listening to sweet bird songs. The have a hardworking, ambitions and materialistic side and share some of the qualities of western astrology's Capricorn--pragmatic, earthy, family oriented. They can also be deeply spiritual. More likely to help others than ask for help themselves, Pig is a giver, through and through. Pigs can sometimes indulge in ways that others might find excessive but for this sign it is only an experience of deeply appreciating the object of their fancy. They give it their full attention! Creative, articulate and generous, Pig is known for their ability to see a project through to completion, down to the finest detail.

Pigs will be well-served in the year of the Rat by using their natural enjoyment of the world to elevate them to new energetic heights.  The entire world (and beyond) is within their reach when Pigs leverage their natural power to appreciate their surroundings and experiences.  In doing so, pigs will usher in significant progress with minimal effort in achieving their deepest held desires. Pig’s ambitious, materialistic, and pragmatic side calls for them to discover and live their highest authenticity in the realms of work and finances.  The year of the Rat urges Pigs to get real about what serves them and what doesn’t, and enact any changes that brings them to stronger alignment with their true selves. Doing so allows Pigs to do even more of what they already excel at: taking pleasure and indulging in the many gifts of life!
