Eros Transits to Planets, Points and Asteroids

The
Aires Point
Eros
The
0 Degree Aires Point at 0
Capricorn on the 28th of February.
The AP (Zero Degree Aries Point) represents a movement from an inner quality to an outer manifestation. A Sun/Earth Node, it orients us towards the world at large—society, public events and all relationships propelled from the individual to the collective.
Activation of this point can be significant, especially if you have a planet or angle within 28.5 degrees of a mutable sign (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) to 1.5 degrees of a Cardinal sign. (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) Eros crosses this point on the28 of February to the 1st of March. Read more about the Aires Point!

Midpoints that Make a Difference (Astrology & Aptitude, by Kim Falconer, pp 125-126)
Midpoints in the natal chart represent a merging or combining of planets and points where they meet, abstractly, halfway. They are plotted by finding the midway mark between them. If a person’s Sun is 1 Aries and another person’s Moon is 1 Leo, the Sun/Moon midpoint will fall in two opposing places - the nearer midpoint at 1 Gemini, and the farther midpoint directly opposite at 1 Sagittarius.
Because the horoscope is spherical and not linear,
there will always be two midpoints exactly 180 degrees apart for every combination
of planets. One will form a shorter arc and the other a longer
one. The shorter arc is generally considered stronger.
Because it is not often easy to see the midpoints at a glance, the
quickest way to derive them is to reduce the points to a degree between
0 and 360, add them together and divide by two. (20 Taurus
becomes 50; 18 Aquarius becomes 318. Together they are 368/2 =
184 or 4 Libra.) Because the closest distance between Taurus and
Aquarius is Aries, the opposition would be used: 4 Aries.
The signs translate into degrees as follows:
Aries 0
Taurus 30
Gemini 60
Cancer 90
Leo 120
Virgo 150
Libra 180
Scorpio 210
Sagittarius 240
Capricorn 270
Aquarius 300
Pisces 330
All midpoints are worthy of study and research, although some
jump out as being more aligned with talents and aptitude in the natal
chart. Consider midpoints to the AP, Sun, Mercury, Venus, North
Node and Saturn, as well as points with the natal second, sixth and
tenth house rulers. Consider the depositor of the Fortuna (the ruler
of the sign it is found in), the Fortuna itself and ruler of any
stelliums by house or sign.
For example, the Sun in Gemini in the tenth
house may want to
teach, write and be recognized for communication skills. This Sun
may offer the impetus and curiosity necessary to follow such a path.
Mercury may be in Cancer—more intuitive and prone to work through
thoughts and feelings methodically. This Mercury may
have a vivid imagination and be able to work long hours at a
home/office. Together, the midpoint may describe the combination
of imagination and writing skills, turning facts to fiction in the creation
of novels, exploratory research or creative visual arts. Having
this midpoint on an angle, another natal planet or activated by transit
or progression will awaken the quality further.
Take the time to study your own chart in this way, planet by
planet, and come up with a personal table of midpoint meanings.
Eros/Ap transit to natal midpoints
AP/Eros on Solar midpoints
Increases drive for distinction, ambition and achievement of goals. The native's passions and heart felt interests could become more pronounced as life brings opportunity to achieve greater significance.
AP/Eros on Lunar midpoints
This contact may increase the native's sensitivity to the public. Nurturing qualities, empathy and emotions soar, as does the longing for connection to a greater whole. Group involvement's with family (biological, urban or tribe), gain importance.
AP/Eros on Mercury midpoints
Increases desire and passion for communication with society at large. Can be good for public speaking, teaching and performing arts. The written and the spoken word carry more impact. Success is possible in the publishing field.
AP/Eros on Venus midpoints
Augments creative and artistic passions and the drive to be recognized as a professional artist. This contact is beneficial for public mediation and all areas of diplomacy. Can bring clandestine affairs to the attention of the media. The heart does not remain hidden.
AP/Eros on Mars midpoints
This transit increase the need for physical activity and adventure. The will ignites, and the desire to push through new projects expands. Good for sales, sports events and recreational activities of all kinds. The native now goes for what he or she wants!
AP/Eros on Jupiter midpoints
The desire for public recognition, success and respect increases, along with the opportunity to obtain those desires. Goals expand, as does the confidence and sense of ability to achieve. Good for litigation, publishing, recreation, high finance, and travel.
AP/Eros on Saturn midpoints
Adversity, isolation, struggles and the wound, may bring the native closer to a sense of self-sufficiency in relationship to society. Obligation and responsibility taken without judgment or victimization can lead to fulfillment of ambitions. Ultimately, deeper self-love is possible now, by recognizing where the boundaries lie, and where some wounds remain open.
AP/Eros on Chiron midpoints
This can make an increased awareness of capacity for compassion. Excellent for public speaking (when from the heart), teaching, healing, leading groups and certain acting or performing arts roles. Introspection can lead to illumination at this time.
AP/Eros on Uranus midpoints
Rebellious qualities arise along with desire for freedom. Could mark the formation of unconventional or radical groups bent on social change, or the disassociation from a group no longer authentic. Blasts of insight can be put to good use now!
AP/Eros on Neptune midpoints
Longings for the ineffable heighten along with the desire to belong to a spiritual group or movement linked to ones own heart. Something, or someone, public captures the imagination. Very idealistic, dreamy and ethereal. Potential, as with all Neptune involvement's, for fraud, deception and victimization to stand side by side with spiritual awareness and illumination.
AP/Eros on Pluto midpoints
Dealings with the power of group consciousness (or unconsciousness). Politics. This may be a time of deep psychological insights, where the surface dissolves and the subterranean nature emerges--Potent, intense and full of desire. Harsh drives to transform, at any price. Secretes impossible to hide.

Celebrate IsIs . . . with your life and spirit
Remember Her . . . In all things
Draw IsIs . . . into the world with each breath
Call Her . . . in song and flourish
~ Hail IsIs Eternal Queen ~
The union of these two deities may bring powerful results both internal and external. Here we have two divine aspects of love and magic. The daughter of Geb, sister to Osiris and Seth, Isis is the embodiment of love and the power of nature.
Osiris was the consort to queen Isis. When his jealous brother Seth slew the him and dropped his body into the Nile, Isis made love to her resurrected husband and gave birth to Horus. The themes around Osiris and Isis are those of death, resurrection and love, not unlike Dionysus and Christ and the Magdalene.
With Eros in conjunction to Isis, there can be a reunion with 'divine love', a feeling of any of the thematic images of Osiris and Isis: love, union, separation, dismemberment, longing, searching, and creative outcomes (Horus).
If you have a personal planet or points between 12 and 19 Gemini, this is a time to be alert to messages from the 'underworld' (unconscious) and from the great mystery of nature. What are you searching for? What if you find it? Consider what may happen if you are touched by the ‘great magic’ of these two deities. How will you respond?
Please feel free to share your views about this aspect on the forum.

Light of the world, leader of hosts,
Awakener of love.
Come to me in the stillness of the moon,
So that I may gaze upon your eternal lightness of being . . .
Mim anon
a nushkaton
Mim anon mim anon.
Nins-anna ahna nuskaton.
Katan a mim anon.
I am the light bearer
I will shine through you
You will bear me
I have been evoked.
Eros and Ishtar travel within orb of each other over the next nine months, making conjunction by direct motions, retrograde and then direct again. The potency of the archetype of Ishtar, once evoked, is enough to coincide with significant and lasting change when this long-term conjunction contacts a personal planet or point.
Ishtar, Innana, Isis, Ahserah, Aphrodite--all these deities embody potent images of the life-death-life mother goddesses worshiped as the embodiment of love, abundance and renewal. Ishtar is babylonian-assyrian in origin evolving out of the cult of Innana in Sumeria. She is not only worshiped for her power to give and nourish life but also for her rule over sexuality and passion, creativity, war strategy (for the Assyrians), healing and justice. Think of Aphrodite, Eros, Athena, Artemis, Vesta, Juno, Ceres, Circe and Lilith all rolled into one. Ishtar is queen.
Bigger than the mountains am I,
The Empress of the gods am I
The Queen of heaven am I
The earth's mistress am I.
She is not only an embodiment of sexuality and fertility, a "Lady of Battle" and a goddess of healing, but it is also she who bestowed the ancient kings with the right to rule over her/their people. Her fame reached into the Hittite and Hurrian lands of Anatolia, to Sumeria, Egypt and to the Assyrians. Here especially - in Assyria and Egypt - she was revered as a goddess of Battle and is depicted with bow, quiver and sword; her prowess is symbolized by her lioness-steed. -Robin
With Eros and Ishtar we have a pairing of energy that demands expression. The passions of Eros, his desire for creative expression, transformation and merging mixed with the supreme life force of Ishtar can become as powerful as Uranus, the great awakener, when transiting a planet or point. Consider this long-term (in orb) conjunction as it transits the natal, progressed and Draconic charts. What is waking up? Where? What do you want to attract in this area of life?
Please feel free to share your view about this opposition on the forum.

Deathless Aphrodite - Daughter of Zeus and maker of snares
On your florid throne, hear me!
My lady, do not subdue my heart by anguish and pain
But come to me as when before
You heard my distant cry, and listened…
Come to me now to end this consuming pain
Bringing what my heart desires to be brought:
Be yourself my ally in this fight. --Sappho

Venus is a symbol of the power of values and attraction and when it is touching Eros those powers can ignite into the manifestation of just what we want. The interesting thing to note, when this happens, is the response to that manifestation. Sometimes what we want fails to sustain or fascinate us once it is obtained. If contacting a personal planet or house cusp, these transits can help clarify cravings and bring to consciousness the nature of their value to us. The trick is knowing what you want.
Venus/Eros can help us gain clarity on what it is we desire. If we value something and want to experience it, we can learn to focus our thoughts (Mercury) on that which we want and bring it into manifestation. Just knowing you want something and then believing you can have it goes a long way to making it so. Venus represents what we value and Eros our passions. Put the two in opposition and you have a link, a bridge that can bring them together in creative manifestation.
It is also possible, under this Venus/Eros conjunction, to discover that the conscious desires and the unconscious ones are not identical. As the saying goes, if we are advertising for Poets and keeps getting truck drivers, we best check the ad. This can be a good time to get in touch with personal values we hold esthetically important. If no contradictory transits are in place at the at the same time, it can also have a festive feeling that encourages celebration and socializing. If it is linked with other indicators or contacting an angle, node or vertex, it can mark the beginnings of a new intimate relationship.

The Moon makes every possible transit to the natal chart once a month but rarely does Eros fall within a few degree orb of the Lunation. These contacts, if they also ignite something in the natal chart, are seldom fleeting. The combined energy of Eros and the lunar events (in this case the full moon phase) are potent. Traditionally, the effect of these transits will last until the next lunation.
The Full Moon and Eros transiting a personal planet or point can signify the awakening of intense feelings and desires. The Moon wants comfort and security and Eros encourages us to seek it through intimacy with another. It can also signify a whirl of feelings or even muddled emotions, especially if there is any tension or lack of clarity within the individual. This transit can synchronize with inner turmoil, blurred boundaries and passionate display. The feelings pour forth and, depending on the capacity of the container, they may splash and spill about. Sometimes only hindsight can shed light and perspective on the actions and reactions of this time.
The need with this combination is to experience the feelings through Eros, and this can help us get in touch with what we are really wanting. Mostly this transit will point out where the greatest need for nurturing is, or is not, being met. Seldom found a light-hearted event, significant contacts can offer revelations in the feeling world.

Mercury and Eros will oppose in Capricorn and Cancer, a short lived but potent transit if it contacts any personal planets or points in the natal chart or progressed chart. This combination can be a good indicator of timing for long term outer planet transits and even with a brief encounter, Mercury and Eros can get up to mischief.
The combination of these two archetypes can equate with every day happenings such as the stirring of the heart by some snippet or rumor. We sense that something has changed, and an unconsidered possibility opens up. As petty as gossip can be, it is precisely this kind of communication that can spark a new exchange or creative opportunity at this time.
Risks may be taken because of what was
rumored and, true or not, it can result in a fresh or more significant
contact. Eros can be expanded
by the mental inspiration of Mercury and this link may lead to a greater
depth of understanding.
Like all good tricksters, Mercury
will stir and tantalize the recipient with information, inciting us to
look a little closer and respond a little deeper. At the least,
this transit can coincide with a flirtatious exchange that enlivens the
heart and lightens the soul.

'May the goddess Sekhmet raise me, and lift me up. Let me ascend into heaven, let that which I command be performed in Hikuptah. I know how to use my heart. I am master of my heart-case. I am master of my hands and arms. I am master of my legs. I have the power to do that which my Ka desireth to do. My Heart-Soul shall not be kept a prisoner in my body at the gates of Amenty when I would go in in peace and come forth in peace.' -- Egyptology
Eros last contacted asteroid 5381 Sekhmet on the 30th of September, 2006 at 0 Virgo, ushering in the energy of Eros into the earthy nature of the element. Asteroid Sekhmet takes about 336 days to orbit the sun and crosses the paths of Venus, Earth and Mars. You can see and animation of her orbit or read more astronomical details.
Now in opposition , the god of love meets the lion headed goddess, a potent, wild and voracious energy, one that was initially brought into creation by her father Ra to destroy humankind. (They were behaving very badly and he wanted to bring them into line.) She is linked to the cat goddess Baset and together they make the goddesses of the West (Sekhmet in robes of red) and the East (Baset in robes of green). Rituals were done daily to appease her wrath so that she would protect the people and not annihilate them. She is linked to the Sun--uniquely a female and a solar deity--and pierces her enemies with arrows of fire. Her husband/brother is Ptah, a creation god. He is an intellectual deity, using words and language to create the world. Their offspring Nerfertem, is the water lilly of the sun, god of perfume (think aroma therapy) and a healer.
Between the sensuality of Eros in Capricorn and the emotional depth of Sekhmet in Cancer, these two could make a potent brew of ecstasy, unleashing wild forces into the life. If you have any personal planets, from the Moon to Jupiter, or an angle or other point in close orb of 7degrees of the Cardinal signs, this could be like lighting strike!.
